Merger of practices
On Monday 1 July 2019, The Forge Surgery, Gateway Medical Practice and White Horse Surgery, all located on the Fleet Health Campus, Northfleet, merged to form one GP practice.
The team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Reception and Administration from all three practices are now working together as one large new GP practice known as Springhead Health.
All patients registered at any of the three practices automatically transfer to Springhead Health and can continue to access GP care and other GP services.
For the time being, there are no changes to how things work. The new practice continues to use the same telephone numbers; the same staff are on reception, and patients are being seen by their regular GPs. There are also no changes to the way prescriptions are dealt with.
A dedicated team has been set up to assist patients with any questions or concerns they may have in the early days of the merger. They can be contacted by visiting the Whitehorse surgery between 2pm and 5:30pm Monday, Tuesday and Friday; calling 0300 0300 000 Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm, or sending an email to email@example.com.
The practices are joining to form one practice as this will allow them to provide improved care to patients; to further develop and expand the services they offer; and to respond more effectively to the anticipated population growth and rising number of patients in the area in the coming years.
Patients can choose to register with another GP practice if they live within another practice’s boundary. If you wish to do this, please contact the GP practice you would like to register with.
We also advise that Dr Ozua has now semi-retired and will be working with us as a locum GP– he will therefore not have any pre-bookable appointments, only on the day bookings and he will not be undertaking any private work ie Medicals etc.
In keeping with the new 2019 GP contract we will also be working closely with our neighbouring practices to form Primary Care Networks. This will make our practice and others in the network more sustainable, enable GPs to address workload and continue to provide high quality care.
The Gateway team would like to thank you for your loyalty, co-operation and goodwill shown over the past. We are fortunate to have you as our patients and we look forward to caring for you under "Springhead Health Ltd".
