To meet the needs of patients and new legislation, the appointments system is designed to ensure that patients who require immediate consultations are able to be seen the same day by a clinician.
Each day we offer a triage service where you will be added to the duty doctors list and if they feel you need to be seen in clinic you will be offered an appointment that day.
In some cases the doctor may be able to deal with your issue over the telephone without a need for appointment.
If we are unable to see you we may refer you to 111 or Walk In services.
To book a consultation please telephone or call into the Surgery from 08.00 for both morning and afternoon appointments.
Alternatively, if you do not need an immediate consultation, you may be offered an appointment for a later date.
The receptionist will ask if the problem could be dealt with by a telephone consultation, for example if you feel the problem is likely to be straightforward or is a recurrence of a known problem. Clearly, telephone consultations are not suitable if the problem is likely to require an examination.
The following are suitable for telephone consultations:
- Follow-up discussions or advice relating to previously seen or existing conditions.
- Medication reviews where the existing prescriptions are straightforward.
- Discussion of test results.
- Discussions about the suitability of, or reactions to medication.
- Discussions of an administrative nature such as Choice of provider or clinical procedure.
In the first instance please contact 01474 546699, where an option to cancel an appointment is available.
Alternatively EMAIL the Practice as soon as possible on firstname.lastname@example.org
Constant failing to attend booked appointments may result in your removal from our list, as the Practice can ill afford to waste either appointments or valuable Clinicians Time.
Online Services Appointments
A number of pre-bookable appointments are available to patients to book online. Patients need to register for this service, provide the required forms of identification, and then activate their account with the required information letter that is generated by the Practice.
Patients should activate their accounts within 30 days, so that the information letter/token remains valid. If you do not do this, you will have to go through the process of registration again.
